We've had a Koi pond just outside of our front door for years, but for some reason I never paid too much attention to it. It felt like one more "house maintenance" project to take care of. This summer I taught a workshop and one of my students (who had given us some of her baby koi fish a few years ago) was interested in making "koi" imagery. I began to play with my enamel colors and found myself totally enchanted with the many possibilities of Light and Color with Koi. I made a few enamel pieces, and now i'm "hooked".
Koi Splendor in Mareitta, GA
I found a store in Marietta, Ga called "Koi Spendor". It's in a house with small ponds inside and out. The large pond in the back is guarded by the "Goose Patrol" to ward off hungry scavengers.
Atlanta Koi Club show
Pat and I went to the Atlanta Koi Club's annual "Koi Show" to look at the different kinds of fish and decide whether it would be a good venue to sell my new Koi enamels. It's probably not the best place to be selling my jewelry, but the fish were amazing!
